Edo and Meiji The first an emaciated sennin with long hair and flowing robes sitting on rocks and petting a dog, Edo period, 5.2cm high; the second a man hunched over a large sack inscribed 'kannin' (patience), 4cm high; and another of a farmer bent over to hoe the leafy ground, his dog similarly digging, signed Tomotsugu, 4cm high.(3).
