1780-1820Well hollowed, of flattened spade shape with a waisted neck and thin, everted lip, resting on a neatly carved foot with a concave base, one face incised with birds and a blossoming tree, the reverse with an imperial poem incised in clerical script. 2 1/2in (6.4cm) high

The original poem was inscribed by the Qianlong emperor in 1759 on a painting of Twin Sparrows with a Blossoming Apricot Tree by Zou Yigui (1686-1772).
