Gilt-bronze Figure of the Six-armed Mahakala, Sino-Tibet, 18th century, standing on a prone elephant-headed deity on an oval lotus base, with a dagger and bowl in his primary hands, elaborately jeweled and crowned with skulls and an elephant head to the back, painted details, double vajra mark on base, incised with nine arabic numbers, with a loose vajra staff, ht. 7 5/8 in. Provenance: Purchased in China in the 1930s, then by descent to the present owner.
