Very fine Chinese Qing Dynasty copper-red glazed chrysanthemum porcelain plate. Shallow curvature flaring upward to form the floral rim, with lobed petal shaped surrounding the broad wide cavetto. Raised upon a slightly concaved foot base. The central interior decorated with a poem of calligraphy inscriptions in gilt overglazed. All reserved in the copper-red underglaze ground. Chrysanthemum is a treasured flower in China and is a symbol of joy and a wish for a peaceful retirement. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant finish that was applied by a meticulous glaze craftsman. The receded under-base left ebony lacquered.
