A lantern shaped, four-sided, bronze censer with tall terraced feet, free hanging hoop handles suspended by Foo-dog/ guardian-lion faces, with a further Foo-dog finial on a raised platform surrounded by a square of cloud and bat latticework. The smooth areas of the feet, sides, and cover are painted in yellow with central areas of Taotie like faces within loose open scroll patterns of blue, green, & red. H: 8 1/2" (21.6cm) W: 8 1/16" (20.4cm) Condition: in good condition only one small gap in the metal along one edge.
