Later in Wang's career, he began to extensively explore mythical subjects from folklore and religion, such as the present lot.王琦（款）　粉彩人物圖瓷板兩件 一九三零年作款識：（一）等閑無處事，支頤入夢長。庚午（1930）夏西昌匋迷道人王琦寫意。（二）濟公活佛。庚午（1930）夏西昌匋迷道人寫於珠山客次。傳承:新加坡私人收藏柏斯私人收藏王琦（1884-1937），祖籍安徽，字碧珍，號陶迷道人，齋名「匋匋齋」，為珠山八友之首。起初以捏面人為生，後畫瓷板肖像，曾向鄧碧珊學習陶瓷繪畫藝術和人像繪畫藝術，亦曾向錢慧安學習，後又受「揚州八怪」之一黃慎影響，改變了其畫風，用寫意方式畫人物。王琦繪畫功力非常紮實，用筆風格瀟灑豪放，率先用粉彩顏料畫人物臉部，其作品有西洋畫之風，為景德鎮陶瓷藝術帶來了一股清新之風，是繼清朝皇家御窯廠衰落後，二十世紀景德鎮陶瓷藝術家技藝超群的代表人物。
