I have to say it 'sounds' a bit like an early 1970s Ardbeg after one minute, which is very spectacular. I also find wee touches of vanilla and earthy ginger, which, indeed, hints at rather active American oak. With water: it smells exactly like a great, old, carefully matured Cuban cigar. Mouth (neat): high-impact smoky grasses, lime, lemon juice, kippers and pepper.
