An exotic experience heady with glamour, style and romance. While the lucky few took to the skies, high above the River Spey, the Macallan distillery in the 1930s still employed three horses for 'general duties'. The early years of the decade were tough for all distillers, largely due to the Great Depression and Prohibition in the US.
