来源：香港私人收藏香港威灵顿画廊管勇多年来专注于架上绘画的创作和探索。2007年辞去天津美院的教职而选择到北京自由创作。自此，管勇的绘画发生了巨大的转变，他从一种更加复杂和暧昧的角度进行融合，表达了深刻的情感，挖掘新的绘画可能性。 “经典”系列是奠定管勇在中国当代艺术地位的重要系列，而《经典19》是最具特色的作品之一。两名男子仿佛用各自的肢体语言表达出对于接收到同一种事件的强烈反应。画面延用了管勇作品的常规风格：坚实的人物造型、几何化的图像特征、颜色的归纳统一。作品通过寓意性的故事反映出深刻的情感表达。
