此鼎式炉，亦云 ：“朝天耳四足鼎炉”。仿商周青铜鼎造型，鼎炉通身以错银工艺仿商周彝器纹饰，纹饰制作繁复密致，平整圆滑，既突显商周纹饰之精妙，又彰显错银工艺之华丽富贵。炉顶配镂空卷草纹鼎盖，上置憨态可掬师子戏球为钮，使鼎炉体现沉厚庄重同时，又不失清秀雅致之情趣，可谓相得益彰，别有意味，通体饰以错银纹饰为表，方口折沿，口沿如意回纹，上立冲天双耳，鼎四角与腹侧出戟，出戟处均以银镶错，炉腹深俊饱满，予人庄严肃穆之感，下承四象形凤鸟为足。明代文人雅士盛炽好古之风，流风所至遍及市井，引为风雅生活之时尚。仿古、式古之制器，因应而生，以满足大量好古人仕之需求，本器既为这一时代流行之产物。此炉铜质精炼臻纯，呈现古朴典雅之风。纵观此器，造型大气威严，炉身纹饰规整繁密，于沉穆古雅之中寓高贵华丽之风，极为难得，当为鉴藏家珍视。
