此高士像以黄杨木为材，立体圆雕而成。黄杨木色泽深沉，包浆古雅润泽，自然显示年代的久远。高士宽额头上束高发髻，神情苍老和蔼，眉眼间笑意盈盈，动态十足。身着披长衫，衣褶雕刻细致入微，背葫芦酒壶，右手执禅杖，洋洋洒洒尽显慵懒、闲适之感。整体造型紧凑，细节处理细腻，边走边吟咏，无不精益求精，足见手法之纯熟，功力之深厚。黄杨木木质致密，孔隙在醇厚包浆下细若牛毛，无论雕工，还是以往的收藏保养，均属上乘，弥足珍贵，值得赏鉴。
