Vayana studied with Grosso, Morelli and Pisani and was Founder and Director of the Palm Beach Art Center, Florida; Founder and Director of the Ogunquit Art Center, Maine; and President of the Artist Club of Hartford, Connecticut. He was also a member of The Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts; Society of Connecticut Artists; Springfield Art League; American Federation of Arts; Gloucester Art Society; Venetian Art Club, Venice, Italy; American Art Club, Paris, France; International Art Society, Rome, Italy; Archaeological Institute, Rome, Italy; National Association American Prof. Artists; Palm Beach Art League, (Hon. Member); Daytona Beach Art League,(Hon. Member); Ridge Art Association, Florida (Hon. Member); & Royal Society of Arts, London, England. Awards included Venice Art Club, Selective Prize, 1921; Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts, Popular Prize,1924; International Exhibition in Rome, Honorary Mention, 1925; Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts, William Gedney Bunce Prize, 1926; & several others.
