A large pair of Coalport porcelain two-handled vases and covers, 1860s, the U-shaped bodies each painted with a continuous mountainous riverscape view beneath a foliate moulded band, flanked by high-loop ribbed gilded and black enamelled handles, the necks with similar landscape painting beneath the domed covers with acanthus knops, raised on circular feet and square bases, unmarked, height 81cm (minor faults). Note: a similar shaped vase, catalogued as 'Exhibition Quality', was sold by Tennants Auctioneers, 17th November 2011, Lot 49.
