A large, massive antique, Chinese, bronze container of similar Dimension, shape, & material of a cauldron (with thinner walls), possibly used to hold incense offerings & the resultant ash at a temple. A pair of small arching handles join at the straight neck and curved shoulder, with a band of raised bullet marks (in groups of 9) at even intervals, the curved base at a sharp angle to the shoulder. D: 22 3/4" (57.8cm) Condition: In fair/ good condition, with assorted dings to the rim & body with some repairs evident. Provenance: collection of Mr. Leon Cooperman, Short hills ,NJ .
