A World War II issue Japanese officer's sword with: - textured lacquer wooden scabbard, scabbard lock, cherry blossom ornamented metal fittings: end cap, pommel guard, scabbard mouth, hilt collar, hooped hanging point, and cloth wrapped menuki. L: 25 7/8" (65.7cm) [from blade guard to tip] Condition: In good condition with undamaged blade. The pommel guard, end cap, & hand guard are each slightly loose. Patches of lacquer are wearing off the scabbard. Provenance: collection of an important Maryland collector
