(11) Provenance: Austin Desmond Fine Art, London Acquired from the above by the present owner Sir Terry Frost has become renowned for his geometric abstractions and patterns of interlined shapes based on the observation of nature. In 1941, Frost met painter Adrian Heath in a prisoner of war camp. His relationship with Heath prospered and it was he who encouraged Frost to go to St Ives and paint. On his return, Frost moved to St Ives alongside studying at Camberwell School of Art between 1947-50. This portfolio of etchings was made to accompany an anthology of poems by Spanish poet Federico García Lorca(1898-1936). Frost described Lorca's poetry as 'simple', 'direct' and 'full of colour'.λ Indicates that this lot may be subject to Droit de Suite royalty charges.
