A rare political and religious documentary barrel-form glass tumbler dated 1813 and engraved 'TRINITY MONDAY', the rim further engraved with a tulip border, the bottom cut with narrow flutes, 9cm high A report in the Times on 21 July 1813 said that the Trinity Act was approved the day before in the House of Lords, ensuring that there was no longer a penalty for denying the doctrine of the Trinity for non-conformists such as Unitarians. The Act was also variously known as the Unitarian Relief Act (Trinity Act), The Unitarian Toleration Bill, and Mr William Smith's Bill, after Whig politician William Smith.
