玉琮黄玉制作，玉质晶莹，色泽栗黄熟润，局部带有铁红沁色。整体方中寓圆，而中部打孔，上下两顶微削圆楞筒边；圆边形状颇不规整，可看出边角切磨痕迹，具上古拙约之风。古朴大气、色泽熟润，为古时高档祭祀器物，适合收藏作为陈设、镇宅辟邪。琮是中国古代汉族用于祭祀的玉质筒状物，最早的玉琮见于安徽潜山薛家岗第三期文化，距今约5100年。在玉器中，琮是用于祭地的玉器，《周礼•春官•大宗伯》记载“以玉作六器，以礼天地四方：以苍璧礼天，以黄琮礼地，以青圭礼东方，以赤璋礼南方，以白琥礼西方，以玄璜礼北方”。
