镇纸由来已久，又称“书镇”，系压纸的工具，其形制各异，有动物形、花果形、器物形、直尺形、香熏形、几何图案形等，为文人房内必备之品。陈浏《匋雅》说：“镇纸谓之压尺，铜与瓷玉皆有之，亦多肖生物者。”此螭龙纸镇以精铜为材，螭龙线条弯曲作俯卧状，大眼阔鼻，目光迥然，鬃毛披身，毫发必现；身形矫健，肌肉饱满，苍劲有力，握之坠手，动势非凡，体现了古人在小器上的精工巧思。整器观之古朴雅致，为文房增添不少古意，别有趣致。
