1st-3rd century AD. A bronze statuette of a standing flamingo on an oval base, small frog at its feet, incised feather detailing to the body and neck. 54.43 grams, 68mm (2 3/4"). Property of a European gentleman living in London; acquired on the UK art market. Flamingo tongues were considered a delicacy amongst the Roman upper class. [No Reserve]
