A bronze openwork mount with D-section outer rim, to the centre an eagle with spread wings, holding a thunderbolt in its claws, bearded and robed figure of Jupiter (Greek Zeus) behind the eagle; two loops to the reverse. 31 grams, 56mm (2"). Property of a South London collector; previously acquired on the European art market 1970-1980.
