Early 3rd millennium BC. An archaic limestone cylinder seal from Northern Syria with three birds walking left, holding in their beaks a long hanging earthworm, another worm bend between the legs of the first and third bird, between the birds different paddings, no line below; above as a boundary, a row of points, triangles and strokes; accompanied by a museum-quality impression. 2.32 grams, 13mm (1/2"). From a private collection of seals and amulets, the property of a Canadian gentleman living in London; from his father's collection formed in the late 1960s to 1980s.
