A carved white marble cylinder seal with goddess (with bun) and a god, facing left, the right arms raised in greeting, in long robes, sitting one behind the other on simple stools in front of each a high four-legged altar with offerings; the legs of the stool and the altars run down into cattle feet, from the seat of the god's stool additionally hangs down behind a bovine tail; in front of the goddess an adorant stands in a long robe, his left hand raising in adoration gesture; behind his head a ball. Accompanied by a museum-quality impression. Cf. Wiseman, D. J., Cylinder Seals of Western Asia, London, 1959, fig.14. 5.55 grams, 18mm (3/4"). From a private collection of seals and amulets, the property of a Canadian gentleman living in London; from his father's collection formed in the late 1960s to 1980s.
