Middle Eocene Period, 56-33.9 million years BP. A fossil crab claw Harpactocarcinus punctulatus on a matrix. 226 grams, 12cm (4 1/2"). From the collection of the palaeontologist R Gledhill; formed between 1930 and 1960; from Monte Baldo, Verona, Italy. The Monte Baldo Quarry near Verona, Italy, once produced many fine specimens of crabs from the Eocene, but like many of the classic quarries in Europe, it is now closed and will no longer produce specimens. [No Reserve]
