此炉体型巨硕，为精铜铸就，皮壳光润，其色栗黄似秋梨，局部隐透金星，显出精光内敛的古雅气质。炉身甚大，唇口外侈，束颈鼓腹，圜底下出粗硕的三枚乳足，轮廓圆润流畅。炉口两侧置一对虎眼桥耳，双耳线条粗壮，斜向飞逸越出口沿，如鹏鸟展翅。整只铜炉虽然沉坠厚重，但因为双桥耳提升了炉身重心，丝毫不显呆板笨重，反而更具雄浑俊逸的气势。炉底铸“宣德年制”四字篆书方款，字形方正，铸磨圆润，有清初官款的精致风格。桥耳炉为宣德三年铸炉中的经典器型，据传其形制来源于姜娘子所创铜炉款式，明宣德年间作赏赐之用。明末清初之际仿铸此式铜炉尤盛，其桥耳有圆扁之别，称为虎眼或凤眼，虎眼桥耳尤为珍贵。今故宫博物院藏器中多见桥耳炉形制，但如本品这般巨硕者十分少见，加之铜料精纯，炉款俱精，极具收藏价值。 款识：宣德年制
