Neuwied, circa 1790, Peter IV Kinzing, case attributed to David Roentgen Mahogany case. Gold-plated brass applications. Enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, inscribed ''Kinzing Neuwied''. Pendulum with thread suspension. 1/4-hourly count wheel striking mechanism on bell. Repeater. Key included. Restored, damaged. 46 x 26 x 14.5 cm. Provenance: private owner, Southern Germany.

Rechteckiges Mahagonigehäuse mit verkröpften Kanten in Form von kannelierten Pilastern. Vergoldete Messingapplikationen. Ovaler gestufter Abschluss mit Balusterbekrönung. Emailzifferblatt mit römischen und arabischen Ziffern bez. "Kinzing Neuwied". Pendel mit Fadenaufhängung. 1/4-Stunden-Schlossscheibenschlagwerk auf Glocke. Repetition. Schlüssel. Rest., besch. 46 x 26 x 14,5 cm.

Peter Kinzing (1745 - 1816) Uhrmacher und Mechanikus, Neuwied, arbeitete seit 1770 mit den damals bedeutendsten Kunsttischlern der Zeit, Abraham und David Roentgen, zusammen. Für sie verfertigte er zahlreiche Spieluhren mit Flöten oder Glocken, Uhren mit astronomischen Angaben oder auch einfache Pendeluhren.
