Karl Theodor von Buseck fertigte eine große Anzahl von Veduten, auch in Form von Lithographien, von Orten seiner fränkischen Heimat. Er begleitete Herzog Max in Bayern auf einer Orientreise, von welcher er zahlreiche Ansichten mitbrachte. Die vorliegende Arbeit sollte in diesen Kontext einzuordnen sein.
