50.5 cm (19 7/8 in.) high注脚Exemplifying Newari woodcarving from the Late Malla period, this elegant kneeling figure would have likely formed part of a retinue displayed in a temple during a consecration ritual. See a similar standing figure in the Museum Rietberg (Uhlig, On the Path to Enlightenment, Zurich, 1995, p.137, no.86), and another closely related by style published in Tingley, Celestial Realms, Sacramento, 2012, p.70, no.17.
