Description

A Staffordshire marbled figure of a dog 1st half 19th century, seated in a relaxed pose with his head turned and mouth open, raised on a low oval base, the whole decorated with pale blue striations, 20.5cm high. The modelling is similar to that of Jennings' Dog, a Roman marble sculpture now in the British Museum.
