A 16th Century Japanese sword, the textured pommel guard of indeterminate design, the [splitting] ray-skin wrapped wooden hilt with a matching pair of two-tone metal menuki/ ornaments (both in the form of a Kappa from Japanese folklore), this wrapped with traditional (green) silk, the hilt collar, hand guard, spacers, and blade collar all undecorated, the blade with minimal dings/scratches, the black lacquer wooden scabbard with scuffs, dings, a crack at either side of the opening & a break at the rear. L: 23 13/16" (60.5cm) [from tip to hand guard L: 35 1/2" (90.2cm) [scabbard tip to base of pommel guard] Condition: In good condition, see description.
