A Japanese porcelain plate with double curved lip and hollow spouted lower compartment (to keep food warm when filled with hot water), the surface decorated with a priest holding a sword aloft, a samurai with a bow on a colorful dais, & the samurai's wife approaching with a box, with a castle in the distance against a white ground, this surrounded by an intricate band of traditional Japanese patterns, the reverse with three copper-red bats, the underside with six red characters. D: 10" (25.3cm) Condition: In excellent condition with no sign of damage or restoration.
