A Silver Beaker, Titled ''SeptemberAugsburg, 1687 - 1691 Johann Andreas Thelott (as a journeyman in the workshop of his father Israel Thelott) Silver, partly gold-plated. Tapering cylindrical form with reeded rim. Chased and embossed relief decoration with a figural representation of the month of September and Zodiac sign Libra depicting falconers and a maid harvesting fruit, between stylised borders. Hallmarked (Seling 2007, hallmark number 900, maker's mark number 1846), master 1689, died 1734. Assayer's mark. Height 9.5 cm. 161 grams. ''The Thelott workshop produced mainly hammered figurative reliefs ... Paul v. Stetten praises Thelott as the 'most famous artist in hammered work' in 1779 ... Outstanding works include a desk in the Munich Residenz, an altar of St. Kilian in Würzburg as well as a ewer and basin for Augustus II the Strong in Dresden''. Marken (Seling 2007, Bz. Nr. 900, Mz. Nr. 1846), Meister 1689, stirbt 1734. Tremolierstich. H. 9,5 cm. 161 g. "Aus der Werkstatt Thelott gingen hauptsächlich getriebene figürliche Reliefs hervor... Paul v. Stetten preist Thelott 1779 als den »berühmtesten Künstler in getriebener Arbeit«...Als herausragende Werke werden ein Schreibtisch in der Residenz München, ein Altar des hl.
