ATTRIBUTED TO LORENZO VENTAPANE OF NAPLESA very similar violin is illustrated on p.614 of the book: "Four centuries of violin making" by John Dilworth and Tim Ingles and published by Sotheby's (2006). Both violins show a similar difference in the shapes of the lower loops of the bass and treble f-holes. The two-piece back of plain maple. Excellent condition. Provenance: Property of a retired professional violinist Length of back 359 mm.
