Letter concerns fees related to repairs made on Fort Morgan. Leadbetter had been sent to Mobile in the spring of 1861 to oversee the construction of Confederate defenses. Crews, Charles C. (1829-1887). Among the final generals commissioned by the Confederacy; wounded in the hip at the Battle of Dover (1863). Partially printed DS, "C.C.
