Endstück eines Gerätegriffs in Form eines Drachenkopfs, römisch, 3. - 4. Jhdt.In Kaltarbeit verziertes Endstück eines bronzenen Gerätegriffs, dessen Ende als Drachenkopf gestaltet ist. Im offenen Maul hält das Fabelwesen eine (Welt?-)Kugel, auf dem Haupt ein aufgerichteter, gezahnter Kamm, am Hals ein stegförmiger Bart. Reihen von Einkerbungen strukturieren Kopf und Hals. Tüllenförmiges Ende mit Wulst. Das einmalige Objekt erinnert stark an Drachenkopf-Standarten römischer Armeeeinheiten. Schöne grüne Patina. Länge 7,8 cm.Provenienz:Aus einer in Süddeutschland aufbewahrten Privatsammlung.
