Goldgefasster Anhänger mit Apollo, Donauprovinzen, römisch, 3. Jhdt.Ovaler Schichtkameo mit Darstellung des Apollo Kitharoidos. Vor rotem Hintergrund tritt uns die weiße Gestalt des Apollo im Relief frontal entgegen. Der durch die Lyra in seiner Linken und die Pythonschlange an seinen Beinen gekennzeichnete Gott ist weitgehend nackt. Die Darstellung des Körpers ist detailreich und zeichnet unter anderem verschiedene Muskelpartien gekonnt nach. Die vom Gemmenschneider gewählte Frontalität ist ein Kennzeichen eher provinzialrömischen als stadtrömischen Kunstschaffens. Auf einer ovalen goldenen Platte gefasster Kameo. Die Ränder sind strahlenartig verziert, oben eine breite ringförmige Öse. Ein unter anderem durch seine geschmackvoll abgestufte Farbigkeit - weiß, rot, gold - und gute Ausführung beeindruckendes Schmuckstück. Intakt.
