A group of ivory boxes and covers18th/19th century|Comprising: four circular boxes, one carved with a sinuous chilong, two incised with scrolling lotus and figures in landscapes, the third uncarved and of a warm honey hue; an ivory plaque set in a wood box, carved in high relief with a coiled dragon amongst foaming waves; and a cylindrical archer's ring box, set in horn mounts, bearing a poetic inscription, the cover with a roundel of figures in a pavilion garden.|The archer's ring box 6.6cm (2.5/8in) high. (12).|Provenance|The inscription is a couplet from the poem Zeng Cui li fu ma by the Tang poet Wang Jian, inscribed on the day before the Qingming Festival at Fang Gu by Bu Kun.
