Chinese Qing Dynasty Period Qianlong DouCai Buddhist emblems moon vase. The porcelain with tall ovoid body, thick, with bulbous lower region, sweeping up into a slender neckline and straight slightly flaring mouth rim, raised with slight small oval foot base, two archaic dragon handles flanked from neck to the shoulder rim in dark blue fine color, create majestic handles. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white underglaze base color which contrast against the DouCai design color. Doucai decoration the design is outlined in underglaze blue and filled in with overglaze colored enamels except blue. Colors which fit together but also contrasting or joined colors. Decoration in a combination of underglaze cobalt blue outlines and enamels added on top of the fired glaze, within the outlines. The center moon medallion adorned with Buddhist auspicious ornament, enclosed with red flori form rim. The outer medallion decorated with several flying fu bat among cumulus ruyi clouds, vapor and lotus flowers blooms with auspicious patten. The neck and the foot rim festooned with auspicious pattern and flowers blooms, banded with double fine blue rings. The Lines of the drawings are clear, the light and dark shades are subtle. The colors are harmonious, elegant and exquisite, the composition is sophisticated, simply a feast for the eye. This inadvertently gave texture, energy, and shading to the design. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned.
