Chinese Qing Dynasty Period, Qianlong gilt over carmine red bell vase. The porcelain potted in bell vase, bulbous lower belly, thick, with rounded shoulder, tall long cylindrical neck, toward to onion head floral shape, raised on small round, with slight concaved foot base. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in carmine red underglaze base color which contrast against the gilt fine color. The main body adorned with repeating huge taotie mask and geometric motif, enclosed with interlocking key fret. The shoulder decorated with upturning phoenix tails, hundred scrolling tendril banded with thick single ring line on the neck and the upper mouth rim, enclosed with interlocking wanzi motif. The glaze is seamless and gives off a beautiful luster, with the colors maintaining excellent vibrancy. This inadvertently gave texture, energy, and shading to the design. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous craftsman.
