Chinese Ming Dynasty Xuande blue & white figural bowl. The porcelain potted with a shallow body, of a shallow vessel, broad wide cavetto, with a straight opening lip, raised on a small round, slightly raised concave footing. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white underglaze base color which contrast against the cobalt blue color. The Exterior adorned with several figure in many pursuit among dense tree, flowers blooms, below scrolling ruyi clouds, all set in the terrace palace, enclosed with double fine blue rings, and the foot rim decorated with scrolling tendril, banded with double fine blue rings. A characteristic heaped and piled effect, the underglaze grayish-blue concentrates in certain areas, bubbling through the surface of the glaze and turning a deep blue-black. This inadvertently gave texture, energy, and shading to the design. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned.The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six underglaze blue script characters reign mark, enclosed within double fine rings.
