Chinese Qing Dynasty Period, Qianlong gourd motif famille jaune double gourd vase. Potted in a shape of double gourd resemblance, with two bulbous bellies conjoined together, suspending a short cylindrical neck, bulbous lower section finishing into a slender bottleneck at the top, with a straight opening rim, raised on slightly short splayed foot base. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in famille jaune underglaze base color which contrast against the Wucai design color. Famille Jaune meaning the "yellow family". This is a variant of the famille verte enamel palette in which the ground is covered with yellow enamel. The Exterior decorated with abundant ripe melons tree interspersed with scrolling tendril, foliage and flowers blooms among flying butterfly. Banded with big ruby red ribbon decorated with gilt scrolling ruyi on the middle bottle gourd. The colors are harmonious, elegant and exquisite, the composition is sophisticated, simply a feast for the eye.
