The porcelain potted in Chinese traditional YuHuChun shape vessel, the pear shaped bottle vase, a bottom-heavy body tapered gracefully to slender waisted neck flaring at the open lip, supported on short foot base. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered masterfully covered an even coat of a ruby red glaze which terminates at the base to reveal the pure white underglaze. The Lang yao Hong and its red monochrome variations appears to have been attempts directed at recreating the lost formula of the Ming dynasty Xuande period (1426-35) monochrome red.
