此件拍品狮子侧首伏地，双耳直立，双目圆睁，咧嘴龇牙，前腿立撑，后腿蜷伏状。狮子面部、鬃毛、脖颈、脊背、四爪、尾部皆以青花为饰，青花颜色较深，深浅不一，有层次感；兼以釉里红点饰。胎质坚白细润，釉面光亮。青花釉里红，俗称“青花加紫“，是在青花间用釉里红加绘纹饰的一种瓷器装饰手法，出现于元代。据《宋史》记载，我国在宋代已有“紫花坐墩(即釉里红)的生产，但未见有宋代釉里红产品出土或传世。江西省“至元戊寅“款青花釉里红器(西元1338年)，既是釉里红器有明确纪年的瓷器，又是青花釉里红器起源的物证。以青花釉里红为纹饰的瓷塑狮子，憨态可掬，置于案头，可观可赏。
