"A native of Qixian County, Anhui Province, was active from the first year of Tongzhi of the Qing Dynasty to the 34 years of Guang Xu (1862-1908). He worked in Jingdezhen Imperial Kiln Factory. He was a famous painter in the early years of Guang Xu and one of the pioneers of Jingdezhen literati school of painted porcelain. He is good at light landscape, flowers and birds and figure painting. Most of the landscape paintings imitate the paintings of famous artists in the Southern Song Dynasty and Shen Shitian in the Ming Dynasty; flower-and-bird painting Zonghua Silla school, with chic brushwork and clear colors; figure painting with Huang Shen's brushwork, vigorous and generous; ICBC grass has Dong Qichang's legacy style, still at ease, quite distinctive. He is not only good at light crimson color, but also good at painting pastel color. His works were influenced by Western watercolor painting and Ren Bonian, a famous painter in the late Qing Dynasty.
