NEVERS, late 18th century. Three revolutionary PLACES with contoured edges in stanniferous earthenware. Polychrome decoration of large fire: - ASSEMBLY, with decoration in the centre of three burning hearts in a rocaille style cartouche with the inscription "The Third Night". The reverse side bears the apocryphal inscription "Ripault" and initials "JE". - ASSEMBLY, decorated at the centre with a phylactery bearing the inscription "Reunion" of a sheaf of wheat, a crook and a sword surmounted by a closed crown, three fleur-de-lys. On the reverse side the handwritten inscription "Ripault". - ASSEMBLY, decorated with two burning hearts pierced by an arrow resting on a pedestal surmounted by a laurel wreath. On the reverse side the handwritten inscription "M C Ripault". Diam. 22.5, 22 and 23 cm.
