The upper half of a large glazed composition amulet depicting the jackal-headed god Anubis, the god of death and embalming, wearing a tripartite wig and pleated kilt; pierced through the dorsal pillar, mounted on a custom-made stand. 6.32 grams total, 48mm with stand (2"). From the private collection of jewellery designer Natalia Josca (1933-2007), New York, USA; her collection formed personally from 1972-early 1980s, much of which was later made into designer jewellery.
