A ceramic ewer with flared foot, globular body with carination around the shoulder and broad tubular neck, scooped mouth with chamfered rim and U-section pointed pouring lip, strap handle to the rear with two D-shaped lugs at the apex and knop finial below; decorated with painted overlapping scales on the body, neck, handle and inner face of the mouth. 1 kg, 36.5cm (10 1/2"). Property of a Middlesex collector; acquired on the London art market before 2000; formerly in an old English collection.
