A red jasper(?) stone cylinder seal showing an Achaemenid king standing facing left with torso presented frontally; his square-shaped beard and hair bunched on the nape of the neck are striated horizontally; he wears a 'spiked' dentate crown on a narrow circlet, dressed in a Persian robe, stretching out the right arm to seize the throat of a rampant, human-headed winged lion, with similar beard, bun and crown, turning his head backwards; the king holds a large sickle or sword; next another rampant lion, with the head of a deer, and a palm tree; accompanied by a museum-quality impression. 13.9 grams, 30mm (1").
