A mixed group comprising: a D-shaped parcel-gilt silver belt chape with attachment ring; a bronze belt plaque formed as three connected discs with bulb finial. 69.7 grams total, 44-67mm (1 3/4 - 2 1/2"). Ex an important Dutch collection; acquired on the European art market in the 1970s. The Roman plaque bears a resemblance to the cheek-flaps associated with helmets pf the Montefortino type. [2]
