A carved limestone idol comprising a banded columnar body, rounded base, male head with stern features modelled in the round, incised lentoid mouth and eyes with linear brows, reserved nose and ears. 429 grams, 14cm (5 1/2"). Property of a Middlesex collector; acquired on the London art market before 2000; formerly in an old English collection.
